on a cold and snowy morning...

It's 6am and I'm dressed and ready to head to the gym.  There's a layer of ice and snow on my car, and the snow is still coming down, despite the forecast for clearing (the new forecast is for snow all day).  I'm hoping I actually get there today, the idea of scraping ice right now in the freezing dark is not terribly appealing.  I'll have to get out there and scrape at some point, because I'm going into Albuquerque to visit my grandson today.

It's not a LOT of snow... not compared to Buffalo, where I used to live, but it's more snow and ice than most people would associate with the desert southwest.  After living on the Gulf Coast of Florida and Long Beach, CA, I guess I'm a little spoiled when it comes to winter weather.

Last night Cay and I worked out for a couple hours during The Biggest Loser.  Sometimes it's our best workout of the week, because we challenge each other for the two hours... "I bet you can't do...."  and of course we do.

I wish I could find that inspiration every day.

So I've noticed more and more that I'm not really watching the whole show anymore.  Used to be I'd sit with my eyeballs glued to the screen for the entire show, and over the last few seasons, that happens less and less.  Cay and I kinda selectively watch.  She likes the challenges, I like some of the workouts and getting the message or theme for each week's show (although this week I was more amused than educated or inspired).  Last night during the two hours Cay and I worked out, and towards the end of the show (just before weigh in) I edited some of her essays.

I think I'd like to see a video series of just last chance workouts... just to play in the background while I work out.

Right at this moment I'm chomping at the bit to get to the treadmills and do some hill intervals with my new playlist on my phone.  I've gotten a few good suggestions for music, and will be adding more to my playlist soon.  (any more suggestions out there?  What do you have on your workout playlist?)

Current health status: a bit of rheumatoid inflammation, but feeling pretty darn good
Current blood glucose: (didn't test again because I feel good)

Yesterday's eating was interesting.  I track calories now as I eat, and by 7:00 last night I'd only gotten in 900 calories (which is too low) so I had a SouthBeach Diet Snack bar and got it up to 1000 (which is still a bit low)  Although I'm feeling better and my blood sugar is better, I find I'm not so hungry.  Or maybe because I'm feeling better and my blood sugar is better I'm not so hungry.
