Quick Morning Update

-  Got my bills paid (or scheduled), got some groceries in the fridge, and can pretty much take it easy as far as the business end of running the family goes.  Cay is going to work today and tomorrow on a paid shoot, so that'll help out this month as well... which is a good thing because she needs a bike to get to her OTHER shoot later this month, and Tay will still need a phone sometime before she moves out.   But so far this month has turned out financially better than planned, thanks to some careful spending and the sale of our sofa bed.

- Off to a zoo outreach just outside of the city this morning.  I'm training up a new docent, which will be fun.  I'm happy to see that this new class has gotten all their certification done right away.  The last few years that wasn't the case, and animal handling training went really slowly.  This class is hitting the ground running :)

- Dyed my hair this morning.  Am trying to get back to more my natural color, or a color that will blend in as I grey.  I'm getting pretty sick of worrying about roots and such, and although I worry that the grey in my hair washes me out, I also know that the brassy color my hair takes on a few weeks after a lightening does me no favors either.  If I could afford to have it done professionally every so often, it'd be a different story.  Time to embrace nature (ironic as it is that I have to COLOR my hair back to get it to where it was).

- Still sick today, but doing better. Hope to be tip-top for Monday's dentist appointment. Nothing worse than trying to breath through a clogged nose while a few rubber gloved hands are in your mouth.

- The girls have decided that for their 18th birthday (next month) that we're going to go on a hike and picnic in the bosque before they go to the prom that night.  I'm pretty proud that my kids want to go for a walk and explore nature rather than hang out at the mall or go drinking.

- Had a bus driver flirting with me all the way across town yesterday.  Very flattering, very fun.  Kinda wish we'd swapped numbers. Of course it could have just been a bit of innocent fun... he had on gloves, so I don't know if he was also wearing a ring.

- Got my little tupperware of roasted soy nuts on the table in front of the TV.  Sure beats popcorn.  They're part of my plan to kick back and have a movie night when I get home.
