... and don't forget it.
There's a big difference between "self-acceptance" and "fat acceptance". Your fat is something you HAVE, it is not something you ARE.
You know, come to think of it, what's so wonderful about "self acceptance" anyway? You're so much BETTER than to be merely accepting of yourself. You could be LOVING yourself.
The numbers on the scale? They tell you what you WEIGH, not what you're WORTH.
Weight is A measure of health, it is not THE measure of health. It's an important piece of the puzzle, but doesn't, on it's own, give you the entire picture.
Addiction is a horrible disease, whether it's drugs, alcohol, or food. But ultimately it's the addict who has to make the decision and action to change. Just like no one will force the food into your mouth, no one will physically restrain you from eating. If you really believe you're powerless over your addiction, you're in a world of hurt.
While you can probably carry a few extra pounds and still be perfectly healthy, you're only kidding yourself if you think you're perfectly healthy and you're carrying a few extra HUNDRED pounds.
If you "can't resist" something, you probably should.
At any weight, exercise makes a difference. It's not just about losing weight, it's about heart health, respiratory health, joint health, and in many cases, emotional well being.
