What? No Post Yesterday?

The last day of the trip is always hectic: pack the van, go to a program, unpack half of it, do the program, pack that half back up, go back to the zoo, unpack everything, put the animals away, clean all the cages and travel carriers for the animals and all their dishes, refill van supplies, and do a ton of paperwork. Basically a one day trip is all that at once. Yesterday was the last day of one trip... today I'm leaving on a day long.

I came home yesterday tired, swollen, and my hands so dry from the constant use of alcohol based hand sanitizer that they felt like they'd crack if I moved them. And I came home to the largest electric bill I've seen since moving here. Yes, I had a serious talk with the girls about how long they're in the shower, and staying up all night on the computer.

I did step on the scale this morning, and I'm not unhappy. I was at 198, which is pretty good considering the condition I'm in. I've definitely had a loss. I'll probably do my belated Wednesday Weekly Weigh in when I come back this afternoon.

Today's program is for a bunch of kids who are especially near and dear to my heart: Kids with detachment disorder, many of whom were abandoned as small children and never got to form attachments with adults or peers, being bounced from home to home all their lives.

As tired and sore as I am today, it's going to be a good day.
