Blogging at Break Time

I've been up since 4am. No, it wasn't the cat this time. It was indigestion. I guess I have to cross East Indian food off my favs list. As well as cutting back on the Mexican. So I took the time to continue sorting and repacking. I've resolved to sell off one set of pots and pans, and I'll be Craig's Listing some of the furniture this week. I've pretty much decided that whatever doesn't go (except for the sofa bed) will NOT come back into the household. Books will go to Paperback Swap and clothing and misc items will go to the Prairie Dog Pals garage sale.

The only real down side to all of this is that I've got a huge volume of stuff, but very little quantity. But at this point, I figure every nickel and dime helps. I'm going to have to figure out more... but am down to just about nothing. If I sell my computer or camera, I'm losing future income. And my tv? Not worth very much in a sale, but worth a lot to me in relaxation.

So today is all about MONEY, not weight. Oh, even after foraging for leftover odds and ends to scrape together breakfast this morning I was still under 199 lbs, so I'm OK with that for now. Today is tax day, and I have to get copies of my taxes over to Sallie Mae so they'll stop sending me bills for $498 for my monthly student loan payment (which will be $0 when they get all the paperwork in) and I've got to run over to St. Johns, because they no longer do phone registration for food boxes and are strictly enforcing the zip code rule. I'd like to think I have money coming in today or tomorrow from BlogHer, but I'm pretty sure I get nada this month, so today and tomorrow I have to get pretty creative with the food. Today I've also got to get some reading done on my next BlogHer Book Club book, The Weird Sisters, which is more a fun read for me. And of course I'll have to deal with whatever paperwork comes in the mail today (I'm expecting stuff from the colleges), so I'll be spending most of my time sitting in front of the laptop today. Except for the trip to St John's (4 blocks) I won't get much in the way of fresh air or exercise today, but I'll make up for it at the end of the week, with shopping, bill paying and a long LONG day driving out to Seboyeta on Thursday for a program.

It's rough blogging at times like this, when there are a thousand things going through my head and all the paperwork stacked up on the coffee table. And a recent addiction to Spore isn't making it any easier.

((sigh)) Break time over. Time to get back to work.

  1. Hi! Decided to read this one, too. Re: the following --

No kidding! I have been having this problem for months now. I can't settle enough to just blog on one thing. I don't have the Spore addiction, lol, but reading articles online? PetaPixel? NYT Book Reviews? General FB claptrap and Twitter feeds? There are just way too many distractions on the 'net. Add into the mix things like needing to cook everything that I eat from scratch, and laundry, and babysitting, etc, etc. Well, blogging is the first to go for me. I'm glad to see that you are keeping this one going so strongly. It's been good to visit today. I feel like I got to sit down and have a cup of coffee with you for the first time in a long while! :)

Take care. Hope that the money sitch will shake loose and that you will see some more income flow. Hang in there!
    xx

  2. Hi Karin,

You know it's just too darn hard to keep up with everything via FB. Too much information all in one place to sort through!

and now there's a new wrinkle to everything... which I'll be posting (here, maybe at the Radula, too) later today.
